The British Museum in London offers virtual tours through extensive parts of its collections filtered by regions and/or themes (e.g. Art & Design, Living & Dying etc.).
Visitors enter an abstract virtual space in which the colour coded pieces on show are presented on a time line. Each piece is represented by high-resolution photos, a short well-written explanatory text and a short audio track that provides additional context, often provided by curators in charge of the collection.
All services seem to be available only in English language.
